How to address your Pitta Imbalance?

Here are the steps you can take to work towards removing the imbalance:
  • In general, prefer sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes which are cooling and refreshing.
  • Dairy can help balance the heat of pitta and should include things like butter, milk, and ghee.
  • Minimize spicy, salty and sour foods, such as chilies and citrus fruits.
  • Avoid veggies like tomatoes, onions, and hot peppers.
  • Avoid Junk Food, Fried Foods, Baked Foods, Fermented Foods.
Diet Ingredients
  • Don’t skip meals or wait till you’re extremely hungry to eat.
  • Stay hydrated. Make sure to drink lots of water throughout the day.
  • Spend time in nature, take a stroll in the woods, and keep plants and fresh flowers at home.
  • Consider performing a daily massage with cooler oils like coconut oil.
  • Recommended Yoga Postures – Tree Pose (Vruskshasana), Waist Rotation Pose (Kati Chakrasana). Recommended Breathing Techniques (Pranayama) – Cooling Breath (Shithali Pranayama), Alternate Nostrils Breathing (Nadi Shodan Pranayama). Daily Meditation is highly recommended.
