Legend has it…

Tulsi or holy basil, called the ‘elixir of life’ is native to the Indian subcontinent and is found throughout Southeast Asia. In Hinduism, tulsi is worshipped as the manifest form of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. This plant’s ability to sanctify a place by balancing the five basic elements of creation-air, water, space, fire and earth- finds a mention in many an ancient Indo-vedic texts. This is one of the many reasons why Tulsi has been such a revered and integral part of most households in South Asia for thousands of years. The incredible properties of tulsi are not only limited to our health and wellness but also extends to the environment. The herb is believed to increase positivity and purity of the house.
